Top 10 Favourite Books Ever

Hello, lovely people! This is my first blog post and I’m very excited to be doing this after thinking about it for a year. I hope you guys will enjoy my blog, because I definitely will! Now, for my first post, I’m doing my 10 favourite books ever! (These are in no particular order).

The_Knife_of_Never_Letting_Go_by_Patrick_Ness.jpg1. The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness

I read this book in December 2014, and fell absolutely in love. It made me laugh and cry and feel so many other emotions. I couldn’t recommend this enough to you. (It also has gay aliens, so if that doesn’t make you want to read it, I don’t know what will).

2. Simon vs. the Homosapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

I read this book in 2 days, and I’m 99% sure it’s my favourite contemporary. (I don’t read much contemporary). It was such a cute, fluffy, and light read, but it also covered the topics of accepting diversity (in this case it was LGBTQ+).

3. This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab

I started reading this book the day it came out and it quickly became a favourite. It was so beautiful, and Schwab’s writing is incredible. I loved the characters and the plot was so unique. I’m really excited for the sequel, Our Dark Duet.

4. The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner

I read this book in September this year, and I don’t think I’m over it yet. It was so amazing, but very heartbreaking. There were some really unique characters I read about. I HIGHLY recommend this book.

5. Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

This was my most recent read. I loved it so much, that I managed to read it in 6 days (which is great with my busy school schedule). This book blew my mind, and I have no idea why I waited so long to read it (over 2 years, to be exact). I’m currently reading the sequel, Siege and Storm, and loving it.

6. Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater

This book is the third book in the Raven Cycle Series and I adored it. The first two books were really good, but this one was so amazing!

7. Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare

This book gave me so many feels. I was expecting it, as I’ve read all of Cassie’s books (excluding Lady Midnight), but I still cried. I was laughing out loud on the last page, then I read the epilogue and I was in tears.

8. The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson

Really, all I can say is that I love Rafe so much. I love him so much that I want to name a cat after him. This book was one of the best fantasies I’ve read. It was fast paced, which isn’t normal for most fantasies, and I love that factor about it.

9. More Than This by Patrick Ness

Wow, look! Another Patrick Ness book! If you can’t tell by now, he’s one of my favourite authors. This book was mind-blowing. It made me think about life and so many factors to it. This book also has LGBTQ+ and I think that’s great because I love LGBTQ+ characters.

10. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

I love this book so much. I read it in 4 days during a really bad power outage last year and fell in love with the plot and Noah Shaw. (Can’t forget about him). I love Mara, and I found the aspect of the psychological problems very interesting.

Well, that’s it for my very first post! I hope you guys enjoyed it. What are some of your favourite books? 🙂

-Erika ❤

  1. I literally just finished reading This Savage Song today and I loved it to pieces. I didn’t find it hard to get into at all which I find sometimes. I also read Simon Vs very recently, probably a couple of weeks ago now and it was one so adorable. I loved it, I thought it really set itself apart from other contemporaries. Fantastic list!

  3. Great post Erika! ❤️ I completely agree with you on Simon vs., Shadow and Bone, Clockwork Princess, and Mara Dyer. CP didn’t make me cry though. And no, we definitely can’t forget about Noah Shaw! 😆 Have you read the whole Mara Dyer trilogy?

  4. The only book I’ve read on this list is Shadow & Bone and I really enjoyed it! I haven’t got around to reading the sequels yet. I’m glad to know you enjoyed The Serpent King! I own it, but haven’t picked it up yet. You just made it bump up higher on my TBR shelf! Welcome to the community!! ❤
